Forest fire breaks out in Sathyamangalam tiger reserve area

A forest fire has broken out in Kadambur under Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve in the district and operations to control it are underway.
The fire reported late last night has started destroying herbal farms in about 300 acres of forest land in the area, forest officials said today.
They said the fire was intense and six fire tenders were engaged in dousing it.
A number of animals were seen running into deep forest to escape from the fire, they said.
