Former Akali MLA Prem Mittal today joined the Lok Insaf Party (LIP), saying he was being ignored in the Akali Dal.
LIP is an ally of Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab.
Mittal said he was totally ignored by the Akali Dal when he was MLA.
"None of my development proposals for the constituency were accepted by the party high command. I was feeling suffocated in the Akali Dal," he said.
Mittal was elected as the MLA from Mansa Vidhan Sabha seat in the elections held in 2012.
Earlier, he was the senior deputy mayor (Congress) of Ludhiana city.
