Former Jana Sangh activist Karmalkar passes away

Former Jan Sangh activist Shantaram Karmalkar passed away here today after a brief illness. He was 92.
Karmalkar was a former member of Maharashtra Legislative Council and headed the Khadi Gramodyog Mahamandal between 2000 and 2006.
State BJP president Raosaheb Danve, in his condolence message, said Karmalkar was an active member of the party since the last several years. "He was an ideal for many BJP workers," Danve said.
