Former Jharkhand Agriculture Minister and BJP leader Satyanand Bhokta was questioned today by the state vigilance bureau in connection with the purchase of seeds between 2003 and 2005.
"He (Bhokta) came around 11 am and was questioned regarding irregularities in the purchase of seeds," a senior official with the bureau said, requesting not to be quoted.
"Nalin Soren (another former agriculture minister and JMM MLA) is in judicial custody in the same case," he added.
While Nalin Soren was the agriculture minister in the erstwhile Madhu Koda regime between 2006 and 2008, Bhokta held the portfolio during the Arjun Munda-led BJP government between 2003 and 2005.
Bhokta could not be contacted as his mobile was found switched off.
