She visited Central Jail No 2 and stayed there for two hours during which she was explained by Director General (Prisons) Vimlaa Mehra about the functioning of the jail factory and the products manufactured by the inmates, a statement from Tihar said.
She also enjoyed a cultural programme organised by the prison band "Flying Souls".
She took a pledge from the inmates against violence against the women and for the girl child.
She was accompanied by designer Sanjana Jon.
The American beauty is in India for 10 days to promote issues such as celebrating the girl child, women empowerment and AIDS awareness in various states.
Culpo, 21, won the Miss Universe title last year.
Yesterday, she had participated in a march 'Walk for Life' to create awareness about HIV/AIDS in the capital.
