He was 72.
Chaudhary is survived by his wife, two sons and three daughters.
He had actively participated in the JP movement and later served as a member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly for three terms representing Darbhanga (Rural) seat between 1977 and 1995.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi mourned Chaudhary's demise and paid rich tributes to the departed leader for his contributions to public life in Bihar.
The Assembly members also condoled the passing away of the socialist leader and observed a minute's silence in his memory.
