The former all-rounder, who died yesterday, was 49.
Though Talwar was born in Uttar Pradesh, he played first-class cricket for Madhya Pradesh between 1982 and 1990.
In 26 first-class matches he scored 1316 runs at an average of 32.09, with a best score of 199, besides taking seven wickets with his left-arm spin.
He moved back to Kanpur post retirement and served Uttar Pradesh cricket as a junior coach and selector before joining UPCA.
As a mark of respect, both Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh cricket associations observed a minute's silence before the start of their Ranji Trophy league game at the Holkar Stadium in Indore today.
