A former worker of Pakistan's Muttahida Qaumi Movement party, whose execution was postponed twice, will be hanged tomorrow morning in the notorious Machh jail in Baluchistan province after being convicted for target killings.
Machh jail superintendent Ishaq Zehri said Saulat Mirza had his final meeting with his family members including his brothers and sisters today and had been shifted to the death cell.
"The black warrant issued for Mirza will be carried out early dawn," he said.
Mirza was to be hanged earlier on March 19, but his execution was postponed twice on orders of the President as a joint investigation team had decided to question him after he made serious allegations against MQM chief Altaf Hussain and other senior members of being involved in the killings.
A video of his confessional statement was aired by TV channels hours before he was due to be hanged.
In the video from jail, Mirza accused party chief and other senior members of ordering murders.
Mirza has been on the death sentence since 1999 for the killings of then Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) Chief Shahid Hamid, his guard and driver in 1998.
The former MQM worker, who rose quickly in the ranks of the party, was later disowned by the MQM chief.
