of police (DGP) Shyama Sundar Padhi passed away at his home here here today, family sources said.
Padhi (86) is survived by a son and two daughters. His wife and the first woman judge of Orissa High Court Justice Amiya Kumari Padhi had predeceased him in April 2012.
Padhi was was ailing for past several days and hospitalised for a week earlier this month. Recovering from old age diseases, he was discharged from the hospital about six days ago. But his condition deteriorated in the afternoon and breathed his last in the evening at his house in Bhasa Kosh Lane, the sources said adding the cremation would take place at Satichoura crematorium here.
