Former OSD in Rajasthan CM's office accused of rape

A 70-year-old retired Rajasthan officer, who has served as OSD in CM office during previous BJP government, has been booked after a woman alleged that she was raped by him on October 3 in Pratapnagar area of the city.
According to SHO of Pratapnagar area, a case has been registered against Mahaveer Prasad Jain on the complaint of the 45-year-old woman and a probe into it was on.
When contacted, Jain told PTI that it was a "fraud case" lodged by the woman's husband to "blackmail" him for money or some other favour.
"I did not go to victim's house or anywhere near her house on October 3. I am innocent," Jain said.

The victim, her husband and other family members, and some NGOs, including PUCL (People's Union for Civil Liberty) convenor Kavita Srivastava, and Left Party leader Nisha Siddhu today held a Press Conference and narrated the incident.
As per the FIR, the accused had gone to meet his kin in Pratapnagar's Laxmi Vihar colony, where the victim was also living next door.
According to the victim, she was also present in the home and the accused lured her on promise of a job and offered her some sweets. After eating the sweets, she felt unconscious and was raped by the retired officer, the complainant alleged.

Mahveer, retired from Rajasthan Vidhyut Vitran Nigam as Assitant Secretary in 2004. Later, he was OSD in BJP government's first term during 2004-2009 and was dealing with water, power matters in Chief Minister Office.
