Former sarpanch shot dead in Kota

A 40-year-old former sarpanch was shot dead by three assailants when he was returning with his friend from Etava, police said today.
Former Ayaana sarpanch Ramnivas Meena was returning with his friend Giraj Meena on his bike last evening when the assailants attacked the duo, they said.
Ramnivas was shot at point-blank range, they said, adding that he died on the spot. His friend managed to escape and reached Ayaana police station.
A case of murder has been lodged and police have sounded alert in all the check posts of the district to nab the accused.
