Former university vice chancellor remanded to CBI custody

A special court sent former vice chancellor of Sagar-based Hari Singh Gour Central University N S Gajbhiye to two days of CBI remand here today.
Gajbhiye has been arrested for allegedly rigging Gour University's faculty recruitment.
The CBI produced Gajbhiye before a special court presided by Judge M K Sharma, who sent him to CBI custody.
The CBI requested the court for a seven-day remand of Gajbhiye, but Judge Sharma granted the investigation agency two days for interrogation.
The CBI team brought Gajbhiye here from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, today after arresting him yesterday.
Presently, Gajbhiye is professor in the chemistry department of IIT Kanpur.
