A case has been registered against unidentified persons under Section 498 and Section 380 of the Indian Penal Code they were found missing from the museum, Dhar's Superintendent of Police (SP) Bhagvant Singh Chouhan told reporters.
In 2000, researchers found these eggs, lying scattered in the region after which they were preserved in a museum set up by the district administration near Mandu.
A total of 27 eggs were preserved in special glass enclosures and among them, three are missing, the SP said.
District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Srikant Banoth said that the watchman responsible for the museum's security has been sacked, while park in-charge Dharmendra Mawi has been suspended.
