Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Chandil), Sandeep Bhagat said the ultras have set on fire a tractor, a water tank, a mixture machine and a road roller on Sunday evening at Hesakocha in Seraikela-Kharswan district during Chhat festival.
The incident, he said, was the handiwork of Maharaj Pramanik-led Maoist squad, which was active in the sub-division.
Following the incident, the security personnel led by IG (Kolhan) Sambhu Thakur, Superintendent of Police Indrajeet Mahatha launched a massive search operation in Hesakocha jungle, he said.
Bhagat, who was also a part of the police team, said the search operation was still on.
