Four dead in explosions at two firecracker units

Four persons were killed and five others injured when chemicals being mixed to make fireworks at two units here exploded today, police said.

Two persons were killed and three injured when an explosion occurred while they were mixing chemicals in the factory at Ramuthevanpatti, police added.

Meanwhile in Kakkivadanpatti, two persons were killed when the explosion took place while they were stuffing the chemicals for crackers in the unit, police said adding two others were injured.

The injured have been admitted to hospital, they said.
