Four held for carrying heroin

Four persons were arrested for possessing heroin from different areas of Mizoram, by the state Excise and Narcotics department.
Lalnunfela (29) and Chinkhentuang (22) were arrested for carrying 216 grams of heroin at Seling today, Spokesperson of the department Peter Zohmingthanga said.
The department officials also seized five grams of heroin from Aizawl and arrested C Zonunsanga (30) and Lalthanngura (38) yesterday, he said.
The seized contraband, smuggled in from Myanmar via the 404-km international border with Mizoram, was estimated to be worth over Rs 7.6 lakh in the local market.
The four accused were booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
