Four held for labour's murder

Four persons were arrested in connection with a murder here, police said today.
The four accused identified as Mahesh Vasant Shirke (42), Asfaque Rafique Shaikh (25), Manzor Ahmed Bashir Ansari (40) and Jai Sukhdeo Dharnia (18) were arrested last night under charges of murder and attempt to murder, senior police inspector Rabodi police station P I Mallikarjun Survase said.
According to the police, a man was found dead and another injured near the Saket Ground here on Wednesday and were taken to the Chatrapati Shivaji hospital at Kalwa by the police.
The deceased, identified as Rajeshwar Pandey (30) and the injured as Biren Kumar Verma (30), both residents of Bhiwandi, were found drunk on Tuesday by some locals, who took them and admitted to the IGM hospital in Bhiwandi, Survase said.

The duo, however, started creating nuisance at the hospital, following which, the two staffers and a driver at the hospital with help a local contractor Mahesh Vasant Shirke (42) thrashed them and dumped them near Saket ground in Thane, he said adding the deceased and the injured were working as labourers in Bhiwandi.
A case has been filed against the four accused under Section 302 (murder), Section 307 (attempt to murder) and Section 201 (disappearance of evidence) of the IPC.
