City Crime Branch arrested them yesterday after the RGUHS committee, which was formed to unearth the scam, found irregularities in the answer scripts, police said in a statement here.
An FIR was filed against 10 post-graduate medical students last year for their alleged involvement in the fraud after the panel found evidence against them, police said.
The scam came to light on July 21 last year, when a student named Jayaprakash Ullas wrote a letter to RGUHS, police said.
Consequently, the university formed an inquiry committee comprising Rajesh Shenoy, Senate and Syndicate member, M K Ramesh and Kiran, both senate members.
Instructions were given to the panel to examine the answer scripts of post-graduate medical, dental, ayush and pharmacy examinations conducted in 2014, police said.
The committee, in their investigation, found that 19 answer scripts of 10 students had been interchanged.
The RUGHS Syndicate meeting on August 27 last year decided to send the answer scripts to Forensic Sciences Laboratory for examination. The examination confirmed "discrepancies" with regard to stitching of the answer scripts and holograms on them, police said.
