At least four persons were killed and another seriously injured early on Saturday when two trucks collided head-on in Assam's Kamrup district.
A sand-laden truck, which was on its way to Guwahati from Mirja in Palasbari police station area of the district, hit the 16-wheeler coming from the opposite direction, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Satyendra Singh Hajowari said.
Four people were killed on spot, while another person, who sustained serious injuries, has been shifted to Gauhati Medical College Hospital, the OC said.
Three of the four deceased have been identified as Rafiqul Islam (22), Jahangir Alameda (21), Hanif Ali (25) - all residents of Boko area of the district, Hajowari said, adding that a probe has been initiated in the case.
