Four killed in multiple vehicle collision

Four persons, including a boy and a woman, were killed in a multiple collision at Sulur on the outskirts, late last night, police said today.
The driver of a government bus, in a bid to avoid a motorcycle coming from opposite direction, turned his vehicle, but collided head on with a van, police said.
The van driver, Mani (38), his mother Poovathal (60) and 10-year old son, Mukil died on the spot.
Kalimuthu, who was on the pillion of the motorcycle, was caught under the wheel of the van and also died on the spot.
Vinod, who was driving the motorcycle and 17-year old Indu, daughter of Mani, sustained injuries and undergoing treatment in a private hospital, they said.
