Four member gang decamps with 65 sovereigns of gold

A four-member masked gang decamped with 65 sovereigns of gold jewellery besides Rs 35,000 after stabbing a 60-year-old woman and tying her up at home here, police said today.
The gang banged on the door and barged into the house when she opened it around midnight yesterday as her son had gone out on some work.
They stabbed the woman, bound her with a rope and forced her to give the keys of the almirah,and robbed the jewels.
The matter came to light when the son returned.
A case has been registered and a team formed to nab the culprits, police added.
