Four of family get life imprisonment in murder case

Four members of a family were today sentenced to life imprisonment by a court here in connection with a 2012 murder case of a woman.
District Sessions judge PK Chaurasia convicted Lokendra Singh, a resident of Chonkpuri village, along with his brother Jai Ram, wife Brijesh and son Sonu for killing Munni Devi.
According to prosecution, Singh had a dispute with his neighbor Munne Singh over a passage between their houses.
On December 20, 2012 when the convicts tried to dig the passage, Munni Devi, wife of Munne Singh, objected following which they assaulted her with a spade and killed her, public prosecutor HM Zaidi said.

The court also slapped a fine of Rs 20,000 on each of the convicts.
