Two villagers were also booked in the case, they said.

The SHO, three policemen and two villagers have been booked under the different sections of IPC including 302 (murder), he said.
Birpal Singh Raghav, a retired Assistant Sub-Inspector from Rajasthan and a resident of Bhondsi village, died after he was summoned to the police station yesterday in connection with a land dispute with one Bhagirath.

"After the thrashing by policemen, Birbal was rushed to a private hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead," Satender said.
