Sarithapuram Fathimamatha Catholic Church died after he lost control of the two-wheeler he was driving and fell into a canal at Kundannoor, police said today.
The body of 35-year-old Vicar was found by the public early this morning and it was not known when the mishap occurred, they said.
Ordained as priest in 2005, Fr Sijo Cheeran had served Vicar of the Elavally and Orumanayoor Churches earlier and then as assistant vicar at Arimbur, Ollur and Olarikkara.
His funeral will take place at the Saint Antony's Church at Thandilam tomorrow morning, the Archdiocesn sources said.
It was suspected that she might have slipped into the pond while walking on the path beside the pond, police added.
