Besides French officials, the delegation on Urban Infrastructure Development and Renewable Energy included a number of representatives of various companies, who sought for opportunities of their contribution in making Chandigarh a Smart City, an official release said here.
The meeting comes as part of the two billion Euro assistance from the French government to develop Puducherry, Chandigarh and Nagpur as Smart cities.
Welcoming the delegation, Solanki hoped the interaction between Chandigarh administration and French delegation will give a new direction to the relationship between Union Territory and France.
The French envoy had on Friday last announced that the Smart City project for sustainable development, with two billion Euro assistance from the French government, has begun in Puducherry and Nagpur and Chandigarh were next in the line.
