The controversial creator has teamed with writer Brian Azzarello to work on a follow-up to the classic "Dark Knight Returns" and its sequel "The Dark Knight Strikes Again", reported The Verge.
The eight-issue series will be called "The Dark Knight III: The Master Race", Azzarello revealed at a panel at the C2E2 event in Chicago.
"It's been an amazing experience collaborating with Frank these past six months. I think we have an epic story that these characters truly deserve," Azzarello said in a statement.
His last major project was Dark Horse's poorly received "Holy Terror" in 2011, which was originally conceived as a "Batman vs al-Qaeda" story.
