FreeCharge names Ankit Khanna as COO

Digital payment platform Freecharge today named Ankit Khanna as its chief operating officer.
Prior to this, Khanna was the chief product officer of the company.
"As part of his expanded role, Ankit will be managing product, user growth, user experience and business development at Freecharge," a company statement said.
Jason Kothari, CEO of Freecharge, said Khanna had brought "value to the team and played a significant role" in the company's journey. "He has also helped build highly complex and scalable products encompassing various aspects of e-commerce and digital payments ecosystem...," Kothari added.
Khanna holds a B.Tech degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

Earlier this week, e-commerce marketplace Snapdeal announced appointment of Kothari as the CEO of its digital payment platform Freecharge and said it will infuse an additional USD 20 million into the e-wallet firm.
The investment would further accelerate innovations and growth, Snapdeal had said in a statement.
