Freed criminal murders rival, arrested

A criminal, whose seven year imprisonment was earlier remitted to three years, has been rearrested for murdering member of a rival gang and attempting to kill another in quick succession, police said today.
The accused Praveen Yadav (40) is a Delhi University graduate whose father is an ex-employee with the Delhi Transport Corporation. He was nabbed by the crime branch from Rohini on Wednesday.
Police said apart from the recent ones, Yadav's name figures in as many as 11 criminal cases post his remittal. He had walked free after serving three years of his sentence.
"A pistol, four cartridges and a Duster car was recovered from his possession. He has confessed to recently carrying out two attacks on his rivals in a period of three days," Joint CP (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said.

On September 6, Yadav and his associates allegedly killed Vipin Chadha and injured Ravinder by spraying bullets on them in Samaypur Badli. It was due to their rivalry over a satta racket and supremacy in that area, police said.
Within three days, Yadav attacked one Joginder Rana over a property dispute who, police said, had a narrow escape.
