Freight rates fall on ample trucks position

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations enquired lower by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today on heavy availability of trucks against cargo movements.
Transporters said apart from restrict cargo movements, excess availability of trucks mainly led to a fall in freight rates for select destinations.
Freight rates from Delhi to Thiruvananthapuram and Bangalore dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 78,000 and Rs 64,000.
Rates to Mysore, Chennai and Kolkata also fell by Rs 1,000 each at Rs 66,000, Rs 64,000 and Rs 32,000, respectively.
