Freight rates fall on less cargo movement

Freight rates for ten-tonne pay load section fell up to Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today due to restricted cargo movements against ample availability of trucks.
Transporters said restricted cargo movements against easy availability of trucks mainly led to fall in freight rates for select destinations.
Freight rates from Delhi to Mysore, Kochi and Coimbatore were down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 69,000, Rs 74,000 and Rs 71,000.
Delhi to Jaipur, Chandigarh and Ludhiana freights remained lower by Rs 500 each to Rs 19,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 21,000.
