Freight rates up on busy cargo, thin position of trucks

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section hardened by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market today following the shortage of trucks in the markets amid busy cargo movements.
Transporters said fresh arrivals of cargo as well as tight availability of trucks pushed up freight rates.
Delhi to Indore, Ahmedabad, Baroda and Patna freight rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 23,000, Rs 24,000, Rs 26,000 and Rs 27,000, respectively.
Rates to Surat, Bengaluru, Puducherry, Goa and Guwahati also went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 28,000, Rs 66,000, Rs 73,000, Rs 57,000 and Rs 59,000, respectively.
