In his new role, Sharda will be responsible for product development, digital delivery and development of digital marketing platforms for Airtel Payments Bank.
He will report to Shashi Arora, MD and CEO of Airtel Payments Bank, a statement said.
Sharda brings with him over 15 years of experience with start-ups and large companies in the Silicon Valley. Previously with IAC (the parent company of Expedia, Match and Tinder.Com), he has also worked with Prosper, Visa, AT&T, Yahoo and Wipro.
Airtel Payments Bank is the first payments bank in India to go live. A fully digital and paperless bank, it will allow customers to access services over their mobile phones, including all feature/basic mobile phones.
