Freight rates up on high cargo movement

Freight rates for 10-tonne load section improved by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following tight position of trucks.
Transporters said less availability of trucks alongwith increased cargo movements, mainly pushed up cargo freights.
New Delhi to Chennai, Bangalore and Coimbatore rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 69,000, Rs 67,000 and Rs 73,000, respectively.
Rates to Goa, Surat and Mumbai also rose by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 55,000, Rs 29,000 and Rs 31,000, respectively.
