Freight rates up on tight position of trucks

Freight rates for 9-tonne load for select destinations hardened by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following increased cargo movements against less availability of trucks.
Transporters said busy cargo movements against tight availability of trucks mainly pushed up select centre freight rates.
Freight rates from Delhi to Ahmedabad, Patana and Kolkata were higher by Rs 1000 each to Rs 25,000, Rs 29,000 and Rs 33,000 respectively.
Rates to Hyderabad, Pondicherry and Thiruvanantrhapuram also moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 58,000, Rs 72,000 and Rs 80,000.
