Fresh batch of 418 pilgrims leave Jammu for Amarnath

Amid tight security, a batch of 418 pilgrims today left for the cave shrine of Amarnath in the south Kashmir Himalayas.
As many as 3,11,990 pilgrims have visited the shrine till last evening during this year's pilgrimage.
The batch 357 men, 59 women, and two children left in a motorcade of 14 vehicles from Bhagwati Nagar base camp here at 4:40 AM, a police official said.
Amid tight security arrangements made by CRPF, the convoy has already crossed Kud on Jammu-Srinagar national highway.
With today's batch, as many as 45,024 pilgrims have so far left from the Jammu base camp for the shrine.
