Fresh firing reported from Kokrajhar, security men retaliate

While reports of any casualties or injuries are yet to be confirmed, sources said that security personnel from a CRPF camp located close to the attack site at Pakritala retaliated with bullets.

The incident was reported at around 9.30 in the night and the encounter between the security personnel and the armed miscreants was on till late in the night.

Senior police officials have rushed to the spot to monitor the situation.

Ever since violence erupted in the Bodoland Territorial Administered Districts and Dhubri since July 19, at least 87 people have died according to official figures.
