From tour guide in Paris to teaching French in Amritsar

Clad in a simple brown shirt and jeans, and armed with a winning smile, her arrival in the class evokes a simultaneous chorus of 'Bon Jour', French for good day, from a clutch of wide-eyed students.
Caroline, a French national and a former tour guide in France, who prefers to be known just by her first name, is on a mission to introduce to the students of Delhi Public School, the sublime beauty of the French language.
And in just over a month, if the enthusiasm visible on the faces of the students to learn is anything to go by, she has made considerable headway.

"It is a great experience to interact with different students, particularly those from rural Punjab," she says.
Caroline admits her lack of teaching experience. "Don't have any experience in teaching. But, being French, I have full command over the language," she says.
Sangeeta Singh, the principal of the school said, "We try to provide exposure to children, because maximum learning takes place when children come into contact with other communities, cultures and they understand them at global level."
The process of learning has not been one way. Caroline's Indian sojourn has provided her with a taste of Indian culture as she visited the Golden temple, the Attari border and Jalianwala Bagh apart from visits to the countryside.
