The future of the odd even scheme, it seems, hinges on reports prepared by two separate committees, with one of them observing that the peak level of pollution came down during the implementation period of the car-rationing plan.
The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC), which analysed pollution data from April 6 to May 6 across 74 locations in the city, including border areas, today finalised its report which will also be submitted to the National Green Tribunal.
According to a senior Delhi government official, the DPCC report has cited "reduction" in the peak level of pollution during the fortnight-long enforcement rule last month.
Meanwhile, a six-member committee, which was constituted to study the impact on the scheme due to opening of schools and do a comparative research on summer and winter model had also prepared its report, which will be submitted to Transport Minister Gopal Rai tomorrow.
The first phase of the odd-even scheme was implemented between January 1-15 and the second one from April 15-30.
