Gadkari, who along with Union Health Minister JP Nadda is on two day tour of Himachal to mark the completion of two years in the office of the Modi government, assured all help to the state for its development andsaid the "Modi government stood for overall development of the entire country and did not discriminate against any government irrespective ofthe party in power.
We develop the nation without any political bias and that is why Himachal Pradesh is getting its due share which was denied bythe previous UPA-1 and UPA-2 governments."
He also laid the foundation of Mandi-Pathankot four-laning project.
Himachal Food and Supplies and Transport Minister GS Bali was also present on the occasion.
Speaking at a public rally in Palampur, Gadkari said that the Union Government has started projects worth Rs 47,000 crore in Himachal and during his two day visit here he has laid foundation stones of projects worth Rs 5,000 crore.
He said, at present, there are 2,630 km long national highways in Himachal and road projects worth Rs 50,000 crore would be launched in next two years.
Gadkari said that under the interstate connectivity scheme, Rs 25 crore have been sanctioned for Bathri-Sundra-Langera double laning road project while railway overbridges would be constructed at a cost of Rs 500 crore at Malan, Bahdu, Arla, Baijnath and Ahju.
