The 30-year-old Israeli actress appears as the Amazon princess in a photo posted on her Instagram page.
The image was also released by studio Warner Bros Pictures announcing that the principal photography of the project has begun, reported E! online.
"Almost 75 years in the making...#WonderWoman is underway," Gadot captioned the picture.
In the picture she is covered up in a hooded cloak, showing famous metallic "bracelets," or forearm cuffs, as well as a matching headpiece of the superhero.
Patty Jenkins is directing the film set for July, 2017 release.
