Delhi captain Gautam Gambhir today rejoined the state team's nets after keeping himself away for four days due to ill health while newly appointed coach Ajay Jadeja also took charge.
Gambhir, who still seemed weak after a bout of viral fever, also got some batting practice at the nets while Jadeja kept eye on the probables.
"Gautam is still not 100 percent fit but he is fully aware that time is running out. That is the reason why he decided to come today. Apart from his own training, he needed to have a good look at the boys as there is hardly any time left for the first match against Rajasthan on October 2. The pruning from the list of 45 needs to happen so that actual contenders get to train," a senior DDCA official told PTI.
With Jadeja joining and Gambhir also resuming training, Delhi's Ranji preparations are slowly getting back on track.
