After more than a decade at the helm of the Maharashtra Badminton Association (MBA), former international Pradeep Gandhe has stepped down from his post voluntarily and has been replaced by Arun Lakhani as the new President.
"The change in leadership at the MBA comes in light of Mr Pradeep Gandhe's voluntary decision to resign from the position of President.
"Honouring his request after almost 11 years of active service, the Executive Committee of the MBA followed the official protocol and unanimously chose Arun Lakhani as its new leader," MBA announced today at a media conference.
Lakhani has been an active member of the MBA's Executive Committee and been associated with the sport since his college days.
Gandhe's request to step down was agreed to after much reluctance from the Executive Committee and he would continue to be associated with the MBA in his capacity as a senior vice-president of the committee, it was stated further.
