The CCTV camera footage recovered from the spot shows two masked men wearing helmets and gloves entering theATM kiosk attached to Canara bank at 1.30 AM.
They tried to break open the ATM machine, Kanhangad Deputy Superintendent of Police T K Damodharan said adding they left the spot around 3 AM after several unsuccessful attempts to break it open.
The incident came to light when the police, who were on patrol duty in the area, noticed the damaged machine and reported the matter to Bakel police station and the bank officials following which a police team rushed to the spot.
Further investigations are on, the senior police official said.
