Police have busted a gang of auto lifters near Kadunala on Varanasi-Lucknow national highway under Musafirkhana Police Station here.
A police team led by SHO Musafirkhana Bharat Upadhyay and sub inspector VB Pandey nabbed the gang of three people who confessed that they used to steal bikes and cars from here and surrounding districts, Additional SP of Amethi BC Dubey said.
As many as four motorcycles and a car was recovered from their possession, Dubey said.
The accused were identified as Moin, Mohammad Saddam and Mohammad Arif.
The accused also confessed that they stole vehicles from surrounding districts and used to sell after changing number plates.
SP KK Gehlot announced a cash prize of Rs 5000/ to the police team who nabbed them.
