Gang of vehicle lifters busted

With the arrest of eight people, the police here today claimed to have busted an inter-district gang of vehicle lifters.
12 motorbikes, a pistol, three gold chains, two gold earrings and cash Rs one lakh were also recovered from their possession, senior police officials said.
Addressing a press conference here, Senior Superintendent of Police Sandeep Kumar Sharma said the arrested gang members were involved in 37 incidents of loot in Kapurthala and Jalandhar districts.
They are mostly drug addicts and drug paddlers, the SSP said.
The arrested gang members have been identified as Gaurav Rai, Gurdev Singh ,Rajesh Kumar, Sunny, Anil Kumar, Bhupinder (all residents of Kapurthala) and Taranjit Singh and Balwinder Singh of Bholath falling in Kapurthala.
