"One of the suspects was arrested from Majnu Ka Tila yesterday. He led us to the other two," said Surender Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West).
A team was formed to nab the culprits after a prestigious school in the city was burgled recently, he said.
During interrogation, one of the suspects revealed that the gang comprised of eight to ten members and they had been operating in the city since last three to four years.
Explaining the modus operandi, the officer said, "One of the gang members would scale the walls of the schools and gauge the security arrangements there. The rest of the members then slipped into the schools from blind areas not covered by CCTVs."
After getting inside the schools, they would overpower the guards and break into the school offices, he said.
"The suspects also confessed that they found large amount of cash in schools during admission time. The gang members would distribute the looted cash or valuables among themselves and spend the booty in pubs for parties," the officer said.
