Rahil Gangjee managed just three holes in the second round as inclement weather forced an early stoppage on Friday and joined World No. 1 Jordan Spieth, who was par after six holes, here today.
Gangjee starting at three-under in first round, added one more birdie in the three holes he played.
Gangjee stayed the best Indian, while Himmat Rai (70-69) was among those who managed both the rounds in the first two days. Himmat was lying tied-11th but only five players who had completed their rounds were placed better than him.
Shiv Kapur was one-over through eighth, SSP Chawrasia hit by a double on fourth was one-over through five, and Gaganjeet Bhullar, three-over 75 on first day was par through three holes on second.
Rashid Khan (71-76) looked headed home early, Daniel Chopra played a brilliant 66 on second day, but it came a day after 83 and he will miss cut despite that great effort on Friday.
Also sure to miss the cut was Jeev Milkha Singh (78-74) and Arjun Atwal, who shot 78 and was one-under through six on second day. Chiragh Kumar (79-75) was also missing the cut.
Korea's Younghan Song surged up the leaderboard after carding a sparkling eight-under-par 63 in the second round of the weather-hit SMBC Singapore Open on Friday.
Play was suspended because of inclement weather at 3.06pm (local time) and could not resume due to thunderstorms and lightning activities around the Serapong Course at Sentosa Golf Club.
A total of 78 players, including world number one Spieth and Byeonghun An who completed seven holes, will return to finish their rounds at 7.30am tomorrow morning with round three scheduled to start immediately after the completion of the second round.
An was at seven-under while Spieth traded one birdie and one bogey to stay at four-under after six holes, five shots back of Song at the USD 1 million event which is co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and Japan Golf Tour Organisation (JGTO).
Song was on fire as he marked his card with seven birdies, one eagle and a bogey to establish a two-shot advantage over Japan's Shintaro Kobayashi with his two-day total of nine-under-par 133.
