The 71-year-old actor, who appeared in films like "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" and "Point Break", said on Jimmy Kimmel Live that he has signed up to take part in season 21 of the show, reported Daily Mirror.
Arriving in to the studio on a horse, Gary joked he had signed up because, "I didn't have anything else to do."
Gary has previously appeared on reality TV shows including "Celebrity Apprentice" and the UK's "Celebrity Big Brother".
He is the ninth contestant to be announced, joining Bindi Irwin, Victor Espinoza, Hayes Grier, Alexa and Carlos PenaVega, Chaka Khan, Andy Grammer and Nick Carter on the ABC show.
