Prime Minister Narendra Modi would launch the opening of 3,000 stores of generic medicines across the country in July this year, the Union minister of State of Chemicals and Fertiliser told reporters here today.
These stores initially would be opened at district level and subsequently at block levels, Ahir said.
The minister was here in connection with launch of the Centre's three insurance schemes across the country today.
Life saving medicines would be made available at a very subsidised rate to people from these stores, he said.
The minister said there would be vigilance committee to be headed by local Member of Parliament to oversee functioning of these generic medicines stores.
