Hollywood star George Clooney was visibly shocked when a media person informed him about his industry friends Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's break up and the actor called it unfortunate.
Despite being a very close friend of both the actors', he apparently didn't know anything about the split until a CNN reporter asked him to give his opinions.
During the Leaders Summit for Refugees at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Tuesday, September 20, the reporter approached Clooney, 55, and asked him, "Alright, don't shoot me on this last question but you're friends with both of them. Any thoughts?"
"What's that? What's happened?" the actor said while the reporter continued, "You're friends with both of them, your thoughts, she's a humanitarian."
When he finally realised that they were talking about Pitt and Jolie's divorce, Clooney admitted that it was the first time he'd heard of it.
"I didn't know that," he revealed. "I feel very sorry then. That's a sad story and unfortunate for a family. It's an unfortunate story about a family. I feel very sorry to hear that. That's the first I've heard of it."
Jolie filed for divorce from him on Monday, September 19. The couple celebrated their second anniversary last month.
